Arts & Crafts Style Apartment
Renovation Upper West Side, Manhattan
This Arts and Crafts style Upper West Side apartment building overlooking Central Park was built in 1910 by architect William Wilhelm Wilkerson. Our clients wanted comfortable spaces for their family’s everyday living while fusing the Arts and Crafts style into the apartment’s architecture. We combined three apartments on the 11th floor into one large apartment for a family of six. Not many original details remained after previous renovations. Our team cherished the ones that did; the inglenook fireplace, the clay tile floor in the living room, the French doors, and paneling in the octagonal dining room were all restored. Every room’s design looks like it is original to the building. The American black walnut office was hand scraped, stained, and distressed. The built-ins, including the built-in bed, cleverly contain ample storage.
